Kids like writing letters - whether to Santa, God, or a foreign pen-pal they have never met. There's often something charming about such letters:
In an early post [The Ultimate Question (Revisited)], Slicer quoted Einstein: "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."
So he was delighted to come across a sweet story in the national press of an answer, devoid of pretension and dressed in humility, to a little girl's question, in a letter she wrote to God:
The original story was published in the Times but is now behind a paywall so, if you're not a Times subscriber, you can read the sceptical parent's account here instead.
The Archbishop will have pronounced many blessings in his time. Slicer dips into another past post to offer one to both Archbishop Rowan and 6 year old Lulu:
"May God Bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true...
...May you build a ladder to the stars
and climb on every rung
And may you stay
Forever Young"
